Tools for today,
room for what has not been said
Cognitive behavioural psychotherapy with elements of emotionally focused therapy, for individuals, couples and families. Ten years in mental health, in central Thessaloniki or online — in Greek or in English.
Tools that work, feeling that makes them hold
I work mainly within the cognitive behavioural approach (CBT): a method with a strong evidence base that looks at the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and provides concrete tools for daily life — not only understanding.
Technique alone, however, is not enough. That is why I integrate elements of emotionally focused therapy (EFT): work with the feeling underneath the symptom and with the bond that connects us to others. CBT shows you what to do differently; EFT explains why it has not been possible until now.
The combination is not an ideological choice but a practical one: someone with panic attacks needs tools for tomorrow morning; a couple who have had the same argument for ten years first need to hear what the other one is afraid of. Usually both are needed.
Three settings, nine requests
Individual psychotherapy, couples therapy and family counselling. Within those three settings we work on anxiety, self-esteem, obsessive–compulsive disorder, psychological trauma, grief, eating disorders, relationships and life with chronic illness.

Before the first meeting
With a phone call to 693 731 3818: a short conversation is enough to see what is troubling you, which setting fits and when we can start. If you prefer to write, use the contact form or email kourmpeti@yahoo.gr and I will get back to you.
Tuesday and Thursday 09:00–20:00, Wednesday and Friday 16:00–20:00. The practice is closed on Mondays. All sessions are by appointment — there are no walk-ins.
A session lasts 50 minutes. Frequency is decided together and usually starts weekly, so the therapeutic relationship can be built and the work has continuity; it is then adjusted to your needs and goals.
The first meeting is an introductory and clinical assessment session: we take a history, map out what brings you here and discuss therapeutic goals. You do not need to have "classified" the problem before you come — that is part of the work. By the end you will know how I propose we work, and you can decide.
Yes. Sessions take place either at the practice in Thessaloniki or online, with the same way of working and the same duration. The online option suits people who live far from the centre, travel often or live abroad. You only need a quiet space and a stable connection.
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental principle and binds the psychologist under the code of ethics. Exceptions apply only where there is serious risk to the life of the person or of a third party, or where the law explicitly requires it. In couples and family work, the confidentiality framework is agreed explicitly with everyone from the start.
Let's take the first step
One phone call is enough. We will talk briefly about what is on your mind and arrange a first introductory meeting — at the practice on Mitropoleos Street or online.
