Georgia Kourmpeti
Psychologist (AUTh), MSc
A degree from the Aristotle University, a master's in Rome and ten years in mental health. Below, in detail, the background the work rests on.
In brief
Georgia Kourmpeti is a psychologist, a graduate of the Department of Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, licensed to practise, with a master's degree in Educational Psychology from Guglielmo Marconi University in Rome.
She has specialised in the application of artificial intelligence in school psychology and in children's rights. With ten years of experience in mental health, she works primarily within the cognitive behavioural approach (CBT), integrating elements of emotionally focused therapy (EFT), with individuals, couples and families.
In my work I am equally interested in understanding — where what is happening comes from — and in action: what can change from tomorrow. Therapy is neither only conversation nor only technique; it is a relationship within which both become possible.
I do not believe in ready-made protocols. The cognitive behavioural approach provides the skeleton and the tools, but the pace, the order and the emphasis come from the person sitting opposite — from their history, their context and what they are ready to approach right now.
